The Mystery of Irma Vep
A Penny Dreadful
By Charles Ludlam
February 14 – March 10, 2007

This hilarious spoof of Gothic melodramas has been described as “Monty Python meets Alfred Hitchcock”. Written by Charles Ludlam, the late founder of New York City’s Ridiculous Theatrical Company, in 1984, The Mystery of Irma Vep has left audiences rolling in the aisles for over 20 years. With plenty of quick changes, two actors play all eight characters including; a sympathetic Werewolf, a Vampire and an Egyptian princess, brought to life when her tomb is opened.
