ART STATION PRESENTS “2007 Children’s Summer Performance Series”
ART Station is proud to present the “2007 Children’s Summer Performance Series” each Thursday, May 31 – August 2 at ART Station in Stone Mountain Village. Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $6 for children. Groups of 10 or more enjoy a $5 per person group rate. Show times are Thursdays at 11:00 & 2:00. Shows are appropriate for ages 4-13. “20th Century Songbook”
Wendy Bennett
Take a trip through the musical history of the last 100 years with backdrops, costumes, audience participation and a hit parade of tunes from the early 1900’s right up to the present. Students learn how historical events, customs and attitudes are reflected through popular music.
June 7
“Peace Pipes and Talking Leaves: Leaders and Lore of the Cherokee”
Barry Stewart Mann
Meet Sequoyah, Tsiyu Gansi-ni (Dragging Canoe) and Nanye-hi and learn about the traditions of the Cherokee people. Students learn about ceremonies important to the seven clans of Cherokee society and participate in a simulation of Cherokee stickball.

“The Wow Show”
Vince Tortorici
Students learn the difference between make believe and reality as they watch this crazy clown enter the theater, find a list of tasks to accomplish and make a general mess of things. The clown makes students laugh as he struggles to tell the story of a Prince, a Witch and a Princess who loves broccoli.

“Everybody Sing”
Julie Austin
Julie Austin delights audiences with her popular songs. She encourages her audience to sing, move, and dance throughout the concert. Julie also uses sign mime (a combination of sign language and gestures) which gets everyone involved.

“Reading Can Take You Everywhere”
Akbar Imhotep
Well-known local storyteller and puppeteer, Akbar Imhotep, takes the audience on a delightful literary journey.
July 12
“Acting Out - Improv!”
Laughing Matters
Members of the Laughing Matters improv group lead a show where the audience controls the action using suggestions, ideas and often themselves.
July 19
“Somethin’s a Fishy”
ART Station Youth Performance Company
The two-week ART Station Youth Performance Program concludes with a company developed production, Somethin’s a Fishy. Join the cast as they journey through a coral reef full of captivating characters.

“Suitcase Circus”

Animals and tightropes and cannons, oh my! From within a clown’s worn suitcase emerge silly circus acts that will amaze, astound, and awe!
August 2
“The Road to Rome”
ART Station Youth Performance Company
The two-week ART Station Youth Performance Program concludes with a company developed production, The Road to Rome. Roman myths and legends are brought to life through the eyes of this youthful cast.
