About the Artist Co-operative
The art work in this room represents the work of four to seven ART Station Member Artists. Artists who are members of ART Station (see below) may apply for space in the co-operative gallery for six month periods of time. Artists who are showing in the co-operative are juried (selected on the basis of quality of the art) by a committee of professionals. Artists may exhibit for a six-month period with the option of renewing for another six months. Artists pay a fee to show in the gallery with ART Station Gift Shop II taking care of all management issues and sales for the artist. ART Station takes no commission fee for the sale of art work, therefore supporting the efforts of the artist. For co-operative gallery applications, please see the attendant at the counter of Gift Shop II.
About ART Station
ART Station is in its 23rd year of providing professional quality arts events to the community. The organization is located in the old trolley car barn at 5384 Manor Drive in Stone Mountain Village, just two blocks from this building. ART Station houses a professional theatre company with performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3:00 p.m. The facility also houses 5 art galleries that constantly rotate exhibitions of contemporary art. ART Station also produces an arts education program which provides art instruction by professional artists for both children and adults. In the summer months the facility is bustling with children’s programs for the Summer Arts Camp, the Youth and Teen Performance Companies and the Children’s Theatre Series. Look at the brochures below to see what’s currently playing in the theatre and galleries and for arts education information.
