On Saturday, March 31st ART Station will present an art stroll through the ART
Station Galleries (at the main ART Station location at 5384 Manor Drive) and the
four Arts Incubator Galleries on Main Street and Mountain Street from 7 - 9:30
p.m. The event is free and open to the public, but obtaining a passport to the
event is recommended.
Passports are free of charge and may be picked
up at ART Station, at the South Town Gallery at 933 Main Street, Center Town
Gallery at 951A Main Street, at the North Town Gallery at 977 Main Street, or at
the East Town Gallery at 5347 East Mountain Street prior to the night of the
event.
Passports are not required for admission but do give patrons privileges on the
Art Stroll. If a patron visits all five galleries and gets their ticket punched
at each gallery, they are entered into a drawing for Gift Certificates
redeemable in all of the Galleries. Certificates are for $100.00, $50.00, and
$25.00. In order to be eligible for the drawing, the passports must be turned in
at the upstairs ART Station Gallery by no later than 9:15 p.m. on the evening of
the event. Patrons do not have to be present to win.
The Art Stroll includes the following shows and galleries: ART Station Galleries
at 5384 Manor Drive presenting:
"It's All About Colour" by Sally
Evans, & The DeKalb County Schools and Faculty Exhibition
Showcasing the work of DeKalb County’s Elementary, Middle and High School
students and faculty. Just
up the street from ART Station is the new South Town Gallery, at 933 Main
Street, which features baker Angelica Kalonji in Kalonji's Bakery and Cafe.
Artwork on display in Kalonji's Bakery and Cafe is by Judith Surowiec; more
information on Judith can be found on her website. The Stroll also includes
Center Town Gallery located at 951A Main Street showcasing the galleries and
studios of Bill Leavell (graphite), Fawn Lowery, (fused glass) and Tracie Hawkins (quilting and painting). The Stroll continues with the
North Town Gallery at 977 Main Street showcasing the gallery and studio of
potter Angie Williams and new SMart, Inc. artist Meredith Bridges (leather,
wood-turning & book making). The final stop is the East Town Gallery at 5347
East Mountain Street, featuring the studio and gallery of sculpter Susan Ryles
and a consignment gallery with work from 7 additional artists.
Music, light food and drink is provided for the
Art Stroll.
